Homemade Facial Exfoliators

I was talking to my co-worker today and she was telling me about not wearing makeup as much to help her skin. I asked if she exfoliated her skin and she said she didn’t, so I told her my 2 recipes for a homemade exfoliator. If you want to find out how I made these exfoliators with  ingredients we all have in our kitchen then just keep reading!

  1. Honey and Lemon

This was the first one I ever made, I was having skin issues and need to clean out my pores so I just used these 3 ingredients.

Lemon Juice

White Granulated Sugar

So why these ingredients? Lemon has vitamin C and antioxidants, it helps exfoliate and fix blemishes. Honey is moisturizing and helps with acne. I add the sugar because it contains alpha hydroxy acids which help remove dead skin cells and clean out your pores.

Here is what to do!

I start with a bit of sugar add enough honey and lemon juice that it creates a paste. Keep adding more depending on how much you want to make. You can store it in a container for future uses! Trust me this is so good. You don’t want t scrub too hard, a light hand will do. The sugar will remove the dead skin easily, if you scrub hard you will hurt your skin.

1. Coconut Oil

For this exfoliator you only need 2 ingredients. This recipe will leave your skin so soft and clean.

Coconut Oil

White granulated sugar

If you want a fine scrub use less sugar but if you want a coarse scrub use more sugar. Don’t heat the oil when adding the sugar because the hot oil will dissolve the sugar, just mix the oil and sugar together and you are done. It is that simple, only two ingredients. If you want to add something a bit more to your scrub, add some essential oils for a scent!

I hope this blog was helpful for you, these scrubs really helped my skin care and it was so inexpensive and do a better job than store-bought ones. There are so many benefits to these scrubs one of them is that you know exactly what is in them.
